Method of Instruction Changes

Families were asked to make a choice between virtual or onsite blended learning for the entire first
semester of the 2020-21 school year. From time to time students may need to pivot from on-site to
virtual learning or vice versa, due to individual quarantine or isolation requirements. LISA Academy
has put in place a process for addressing these needs to minimize disruption to on-site learning and
to provide continuity of learning. Changing the method of learning is intended only for
circumstances related to the pandemic.

If a student needs to pivot from on-site to virtual learning due to a COVID-19 related requirement,
the parent/guardian should contact the school to notify them of the reason for the change in
methods. The parent/guardian should be prepared to provide documentation and/or a verifiable
reason for the requested change. The school will work to make the transition as quickly as possible
and will ensure that the student continues to receive educational services.

If a student needs to return from virtual to on-site learning due to release from a COVID-19 related
requirement, the parent/guardian should contact the school to notify them of the date of release.
The parent/guardian should be prepared to provide documentation and/or a verifiable reason for
the requested change. The school will work to make the transition as quickly as possible. The
student will remain in his/her current method of instruction until the transition can be completed.

If a parent/guardian selected virtual learning for the first semester, it is strongly recommended that
the student continues with that selected method. Classroom capacities were evaluated based on
the number of students who selected on-site instruction for the first semester. Significant changes
to the number of students on campus may potentially limit the school’s ability to ensure social
distancing in all classrooms.

Requests to change instructional methods that are not directly related to isolation or quarantine
requirements will be considered on a case-by-case basis and may require the student to be placed
on a wait list for an on-site classroom assignment. These decisions will be based on whether or not
the school can continue safe operation with the additional on-site students.
